Venture Crossbars on Venture 4Runner

Just received my venture crossbars a few days ago and installed them with ease. Replaced my Yakima megawarrior that comes standard on the Venture edition 4runners. Dont like the Yakima basket because it was too tall and have little options to mount gear. Just installed the crossbars yesterday and was very pleased. Install was very easy and had no issues at all. Mounted my arb awning on them and it looks great. I love the low profile look of these and I love how there are many mounting holes for future use. Theyre solid I stood on the crossbars and they dont budge. I thought mounting things were gonna be a pain due to it being so low off the roof. But its easy as long as you use carriage bolts. Its not hard either to just loosen up the bars from the factory rails to mount more things onto the rack. Cant wait to mount my waterport tank and a pelicanPlano case on it. Also might be doing some maxtrax on there as well. Great product and definitely great packaging from artec. They care about their product and it shows. Mahalo

2019 TRD OR

Low profile - no tool access

I have a love-hate relationship with these cross rails. I recently installed a second set and now have 4 on my 19 TRD OR. I love that they make such a low profile roof rack. The cross rails are flush with the tops of the OEM roof rails and are relatively easy to install. The cross rails themselves are very stiff and strong. What I hate is how things attach to them. Because the rails are so low profile and have side flanges for strength it is virtually impossible to get any tools under the rails to hold a nut while using a bolt from the top (without removing the rail). Therefore I am using mostly 38 carriage bolts with 12 washers inserted from underneath - it is tricky to maneuver them and then pull them up through the slots. To hold the carriage bolts 38 washers and jam nuts are used to secure each in place from above. Whatever threads protrude beyond the jam nuts are used for securing items or containers. I also have some 38 eye bolts that easily attach to the threaded inserts in the rail ends - intended for the side rails which I do not have. Installing traction board mounting pins requires removing the front bolts on the end of a rail to rotate that rail up so a wrench can be used to tighten those pins with nuts from below - after cutting the pin threads. Of course the rails then have to be carefully positioned to match the length of the traction boards when they are rotated back into place. While all of this is quite tedious and time consuming the end result is a very low profile roof rack using the OEM side rails. So I am happy with the 4 cross-rails that I have installed and would make the purchase again.

Good low profile roof rack that can be easily removed and repositioned to fit your needs. Currently using these to mount a maxtrax (with cut mounting screws).

Regarding the Toyota 4Runner 5G Venture Cross Rails, will these fit a 2020 TRD Off-road 4Runner? Are they still in production and available? What is the exact width of the top deck of the crossbar? Thanks.

Hey! I just ordered a pair of these, and was curious was the weight limit was? They look way more sturdy than most of the crappy ones I

A — Staff (Artec Team): The cross rails are strong we have tested 200lbs on them. However, We do suggest only putting a load on them that the factory side rails are rated for .
