Required some minor tweaking

During install the left rear fought me all the way. I could not get it lined up after trying everything i finally figured out that some excess weld on the inside of the skid was preventing it from fitting flush. A little die grinding and she popped into place. I was worried about installing the other side but it fit like a glove and took only minutes. It was a hassle but I still love Artec products.Looking to do their rails next if they ever go on sale.

JL Rear Axle LCA Bolt-on Skids

This is another well made product from Artec. The install was very easy and provides excellent protection on the trails much better than the thinner factory LCA skids

Close, but not quite

Bought these at the same time as my aluminum belly pan which is excellent to give a bit more protection. They looked to be super simple to install and since I was going to swap out shocks anyway Id be halfway there. The passenger side went great everything slid in place and bolted up perfectly. The drivers side was another story. I spent a good half hour trying to get the bolt holes to line up and failure was the result. Turns out there was a bunch of excess weld inside the skid. Back into my shop to cut and grind that out. It finally sat up as far as needed but the front bolt holes still wouldnt line up. Thats when I figured out the one panel of the skid was bent in too far limiting the room needed for fit. Since I dont have the necessary tools to resend this thing I opened up the front bolt holes enough to allow it to bolt up. A quick paint job to protect all the spots I had to cut drill and file and I got the drivers side mounted. So 25 minutes for one side and over 2 hours for the other. Not what I expected out of a premium brand. Fortunately the skids look like they will do a great job of protecting everything back there.

ARTECs lower control arm skids are rock solid. They are exceptionally made and the powder coating work is so good youll almost not want to drag them across your local terrain. While these are bolt-on products they can be a bit tricky to install if the holes dont line up perfectly. If thats the case for you try placing a floor jack under them. Lifting the Jeep by the LCAs helps to bring the holes closer. You may also benefit by using the punch method. By wedging a transfer punch (thats the same diameter as your bolt) into the hole that may not be not be perfectly lined up you can align your LCAs bolt behind it and quickly Hammer it through. Sounds tough but it really isnt. Your local mechanic can help if you run into any challenges Buy with confidence

Easy to use, great product

I love these bolt on skids. Just tested them out on the Rubicon trail and the pounding they took really saved my LCA bracketry. The covered shock area was really a homerun. Hope to see some front ones out soon

did the rear shock/lower control arm skids get sorted out? I have read several reviews where there were issues with mounting them due to slag/weld splater etc or whatever. I am interested in a set but not wanting to have to be grinding to make them fit. thanks Jeff
