This truss is unreal. I cant believe how well made this truss is. I truly feel like Artec Industries has tighter manufacturing tolerances than Jeep does. Perfect bends and perfect cuts. I see an easy install in the very near future.
PURCHASED THE TRUSS KIT WITH C-GUSSETS FOR A JK DANA 44 WENT ON A BRAND NEW DANA 44 CASE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT OLD AXLE HAD A NO NAME TRUSS KIT ON IT THAT HAD MINIMAL WELDABLE AREAS THE ARTEC SET WAS THICKER STEEL AND MUCH BETTER WELD POINTS. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE . DEFINETLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE
This kit was exactly what I was looking for - great quality light weight easy-ish to install with the axle installed and great fit. The hardest part of this kit was figuring out which way the sway bar bracket went on the driver side (its not hard its just work). To simplify installation on the vehicle remove the lower shock bolts raise the truck up decently high drop the axle down but leave some room to work around underneath the axle (weldinggrinding). Prep all the truss parts by painting the undersides prior to installation and then prep the axle and the truss components (eastwood makes a paint can to paint the inside the parts if you forget). My brother in law did all the welding (certified welder for the city) and one suggestion is to combination MIG (the C-gussets) and TIG the parts and at the pumpkin with a high-nickel content rod make sure you move around a lot to allow things to cool slowly. At the same time of installation think about installing C-gussets new chromoly axle shafts as well as new ball joints. Took a weekend to install - Friday evening setup and disassembly Saturday truss prep and installation and Sunday install axlessealsball joints and reassemble. Super stoked on the quality of the kit and the ease of installation. Gives a ton more strength to the axle and assurance for those flexy big tire situations.
perfect fit self explanatory (which is good no directions available yet) axle support from C-gusset to c gusset. Beefy. There are a couple pieces you have to convince to sit beneath the coil buckets and attempt to weld makes it interesting. Very impressed with the fit and simplicity.
This may be the easiest installing truss available. Minimal grinding to fit up. No instructions were available but the lit was pretty self explanatory.
I was hesitant at first to get the Artec Truss and C gussets as I kept hearing that I would transfer the weak link to a different area Of the axle. So glad I stuck to my gut and have been really enjoying my JKU more with the trussc gusset on my Dana 30 front axle on 38in tires. I have been wheeling on some moderately hard trails and the axle is holding quite well. No fear that I will brake my axle.
